WELCOME TO
TILBURY ROAD
CLASSIC STYLES
FOR THE WAY YOU LIVE TODAY
Tilbury Road is inspired by my grandmothers who always had an open door for a friend to stop by. You could pop in and share a cool drink or a hot cup of tea and probably a freshly baked warm chocolate chip cookie while you chatted about whatever was going on in your life.
While I don’t bake cookies as often as they did and I hardly ever iron a shirt, I am a mom of three young adults and I’ve created a cozy, welcoming home for our family and friends.
This is a place where you can stop by to browse my favorite home, fashion, and functional living finds suited to our busy lifestyles, all right at your fingertips to save you time and money.
This site uses affiliate links. If you purchase something via one of these links, I may make a small commission (but it doesn’t affect your price or purchase!). As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.

My daughter and I are both avid readers. In fact, she’s taken my place as the most frequent patron at our local library. She is still strictly a hardcover & paperback reader, whereas I am a Kindle girl because I can make the font absolutely huge and read in bed without my glasses. I also always feel a little sad when I finish a book, and with my Kindle library stocked, I am always ready to start a new one right away without having to wait until the morning to go to the library. Now that she is an adult, we often swap book recommendations. I’ve created the Book Club here so that you can join us.

This section of the website is dedicated to parents who are preparing to move their kids into college.
Posts in this section can be paired with the free downloadable packing lists found at the top of the Home Page. They are grouped into categories and designed to give you some shopping options right at your fingertips or to serve as inspiration for your own research.
PLEASE DO NOT THINK THAT YOUR CHILD WILL NEED EVERYTHING LISTED HERE. There is no need to go crazy. It’s better to start with less and send things as needed. This will minimize the stress of move-in day (when emotions are running high), allow you to spend money on only those things that will be used, and if your kid decides they need something you didn’t bring on the first day, Amazon will have it delivered in no time. Bonus: your student gets packages. We all love packages.
My rule of thumb is to bring everything that needs to be assembled with tools or requires furniture moving, anything that involves installation, and the stuff that will make your kid feel at home in their new digs.
Click below for a series of posts with links to dorm life products from my packing lists. Read them from the bottom to the top since the most recent posts are at the top, and I started writing with what you will need for move-in day.
