From time to time, I will share a post that may not be specific in theme. I just want to share some of the items that have recently caught my eye and that I think you may enjoy as much as I do. Cheers to the first edition of “A Few of My Favorite Things.”

When I buy seasonal decorative items, I like to choose a classic design that will last for years. I want to be able to pull it out of the attic at the start of the season and be happy to see it again. This chinoiserie ceramic pumpkin container does double duty as either table decor or a cookie jar.

For something that lives on the countertop all the time, I love this classic cookie jar. My youngest son keeps asking me to make homemade chocolate chip cookies, and this would be the perfect place to stash them, just like Grandma did. It also makes a nice gift; write your favorite cookie recipe on a card and tie it up with a bow.

This classic cardigan will work from autumn through spring. I love the gold buttons and the slightly cropped fit. If you’ve read any of my previous posts, you already know that pockets are a thing for me. They make everything better. It comes in a variety of colors as well.

The scalloped design and the pearl finish make this headband a perfect accent piece.

Can we just take a moment to enjoy this jewel of a shoe? Carrie Bradshaw would wear flats if she could get her paws on these beauties. I love the patent finish. It’s elegant enough to wear with a knee-length dress and perfect for either a tailored or wide-leg pair of pants. You could even dress up jeans and a blouse for an evening out. I always size up half a size with a pointed-toe shoe.

A boxwood wreath is the little black dress of home decor, as far as I’m concerned. I keep mine out all year and embellish it with a seasonal ribbon that changes throughout the year. This one will also work on a window or if you have a spot where you like to hang a wreath indoors. It comes in three sizes and has over 3,000 positive reviews. When mine needs replacing, this is the winner.

I don’t know about where you are, but where I live, it has rained every single Saturday for the past seven weeks. Yes, SEVEN WEEKS. And it’s supposed to rain this weekend, too. I bought this oversized umbrella a couple of years ago for spring baseball season, and it has held up better than any golf umbrella I’ve ever used. It’s durable, not too heavy, and doesn’t turn inside out. If you live near me, you need this.

A classic driving loafer is something that never goes out of style. I like this one because it’s made with a softer knit material than traditional leather which takes time to break in. The box toe will also provide all-day comfort. I love the contrast stitching and the trim on the heel.

These hyacinth basket serving dishes are perfect. The stoneware baking set is dishwasher, microwave, and oven-safe, and the carrying baskets are perfect for transporting and serving. They nestle together for easy storage.

This old-fashioned bread box holds two loaves. My daughter and I are die-hard fans of the Great British Baking Show which led to my bread maker last Christmas. Now that the leaves are falling and the nights are chilly, I’m making more soups, stews, and crock-pot dishes and bread to go with them. This is the perfect place to store my masterpieces.

I came across Embryolisse creams several months ago. The French favorite has a lovely light scent and soaks into your skin quickly. It’s a lighter cream which is perfect for summer or warmer climates, and I find that I apply it more than once when I’m in the dry heat inside my house in the winter. While Embryolisse offers an entire product line, this is my favorite, at least because it does it all. I use it under my makeup in the morning and as a moisturizer at night. I highly recommend it.
