The other night, I went to a care package party for our college freshman. The kids have been away for a couple of months now, and someone figured it might be time to send some love from home. This party was a great idea. It was basically like a cookie exchange. If there were 20 people coming, each person brought 20 of one item, then we set them all out and filled our boxes to pack for our kids. There were snacks and wine, so it wasn’t completely altruistic, and it was fun to catch up with parents I hadn’t seen since graduation day. If you want to send a care package to someone, I’ve listed some ideas here to get you started. Some of these are items from the party, and the rest are items that I’ve already sent to mine.

This queen-size throw blanket comes in 15 different colors, and it’s nice enough to bring home.

This portable charger has rave reviews in my house. Everyone likes the slim design, which makes it easy to carry around, and the multiple charging options are useful when you need to charge more than one device on the go. I highly recommend this one.

If your kids carry a water bottle everywhere they go, it may be time to give it a good cleaning. I recently sent these with a small bottle of dish soap, and while they would never be used at home, they were a hit at school. I guess the kids finally noticed that it’s not the dish fairy who gets the funk out.

Power Crunch Protein Wafer Bars…. mine swear by these.  Easy to pop a few in the backpack if you can’t get to the dining hall.

Fight the Frat Flu, or the regular flu, or COVID, you get my drift. Send some of these along with daytime and night-time cold medicine.

Airborne Gummies for Adults (again, with this theme, but we’ve got to keep them healthy for exams).

This should live by the door, especially if the bathroom is down the hall.

Hello, roommate who watches TikTok at 3 a.m.

For Sunday mornings…..hydrate, please, Love Mom.

Mug cakes. Let’s B Reel and send something they will be happy to open first!
