So here’s a confession: I don’t love Halloween. It’s just not my favorite holiday. Even as a kid, I didn’t really like it. That being said, I’m not a total monster, and I can get behind the fun, the nostalgia, and the celebrations. I’m just not as all-in as people who really, really love it. If you are a half-hearted Halloweener like me or if this is really your time to shine, I have some finds that may make your celebration a little less scary and a little more sweet this year.

Flameless candles are great all year long. I use them in my living room, dining room, and on the console table by my front door. The remote and preset timers allow you to enjoy the warm glow every evening after the sun goes down without having to lift a finger. They are perfect for welcoming trick-or-treaters to your door.

Do you want something classically spooky for your Halloween decor? These floating candles will do the “trick.”

If you are a real candle kind of person or just want to add a warm scent to your space, this pumpkin chai soy candle in its beautiful jar will get you through the whole season. It’s more than a Halloween decoration. I actually save these jars and clean them out once the candle has burnt down. I use them to store knick-knacks, keys, hair ties, rubber bands, matches, whatever little trinkets you can think of.

While I don’t put gravestones and skeletons in my yard, happy jack-o-lantern string lights are the kind of Halloween decorations that are just my speed. They are great on a porch, entwined in a tree in the yard or by the front door and they aren’t too scary for the littlest visitors.

Think Halloween is for the birds or are you dressing up as Tippi Hedren in the Hitchcock classic? This set of six black feathered crows is perfect for you.

If you are entertaining, light the way to your door with these cute luminary bags. Add a battery operated tea light to each bag for a safe, festive and beautiful welcome to your front door. I love lumiary bags for Christmas eve and New Years too!

My kids are older now but I haven’t forgotten the last minute run to find paper plates for the class party. Stock up now so you are never left running for whatever is left over at CVS. How cute are these Halloween dessert plates? Pro tip: keep a bin with seasonal class party stuff. I always kept plates and napkins for every holiday (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Winter Party, Valentines Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, and end of the school year) so that I could just dip in whenever we needed to. Throwing in some birthday supplies never hurt either!

If you are going to do the plates, you may as well get the straws. These festive paper straws can be mixed and matched all year long. I keep some in my car for car trips too.

Since Halloween is mid-week this year, we are looking at an entire Halloweekend. That means parties! How about these festive tissue pumpkin table decorations? They come in a set of six peices so you can put them all together or set them up throughout the house.

Remember how I mentioned nostalgia at the beginning of this post? The Peanuts gang is all that for me. Even my big kids still love to watch Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin. Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the rest of the gang can decorate your lawn or your pumpkins and welcome visitors with these re-uable push in garden stakes. Don’t shy away from being sweet this year!

If you have little ones in your life or just want to suprise your big kids with some childhood memories, give them this keepsake book. This is a family favorite in my house.

If you are like me and want seasonal decoration that will last for years to come, I like these faux velvet pumkins. They can be used anywhere indoors or sheltered from the elements and can take you all the way through the autmn season to Thanksgiving. This set comes with 12 pieces so there are plenty to make groupings of different sizes. You can even take some to work!

Getting down to the real business of Halloween for me, don’t forget the Reeces Peanut Butter Cups!
