It’s not just the leaves that are turning here in the Northeast. The weather is getting chilly now, too, and not just at night. I just went to the attic to put away my tank tops and bathing suits and swap them out with long sleeves and sweaters. Each year, I go through what I have and decide what to keep, refresh, and donate. I like to do this before it gets too chilly so that I know what I’m working with. I tend to like the same styles and colors, and if I don’t remember exactly what I have, I will buy what I like this season and end up with seventeen blue and white striped sweaters. Not that there’s anything wrong with that!

Here are a few of my favorites for fall.

The wool blend will keep you warm and the loose fit will keep you comfortable. I love this classic cable knit. It’s something that will never go out of style.

I have this one in in both light green and rose red. With over 9,000 positive reviews, I’m not the only one who loves it. It’s perfect over jeans or leggins and works well with a pair of tailored black pants as well. This is a fall and winter staple for me because it’s comfortable on it’s own and easy to throw over a base layer if you need some extra warmth.

I love this classic Irish sweater style. A traditional Irish sweater is often itchy and bulky and requires dry cleaning. Those are three strikes for me. And I’m an Irish girl. This one is machine washable, offers a gentler fit at a wallet friendly price.

This cute poncho-style pulloever is fun and flirty. It’s a nice pop of color when you don’t want a heavier weight sweater.

This is another Mud Pie product that I love. It’s super cozy without being bulky. It comes in blush, green and grey, all of which make a great wardrobe staple.

Remeber what I said about buying blue and white striped sweaters at the top of this post? Here is the one I just ordered for this year! It’s light-weight and I love the neckline and banded cuffs.

I love, love, love this coatigan. It’s a lovely weight and can function as either a sweater under a long coat or as a coat. The color is even better in person. If you are tall, it will hit just above the knee. If you are 5’3″ like me, it is a bit longer, which works well for me.

This is another great coatigan option. The Max Studio Women’s Long Cardigan is machine washable, budget-friendly, and comes in 19 different styles.

If you prefer a more traditional cardigan, I love this chunky grey cable knit. I think it’s a perfect, everyday, casual piece.

The Velvet Women’s Makenzie sweater by Graham & Spencer is lush and lovely. The fair isle design in pistachio is a classic piece worth the investment.

Finishing off my list is the gorgeous Dale of Norway wool ski sweater. The merino knit will keep you warm for outdoor adventures, and the classic Norwegian design looks fabulous for any occasion.
