Is blue a neutral color? Is it the perfect accent color? Is it traditional? Is it modern? Does it go with everything? Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes and Yes! The psychology of blue tells us that all of these are true. Blue invokes calm and relaxation, sea and sky, and infinite possibility. It’s also the color of stability and reliability. How can one color be so many different things? Here are some of my favorite finds in blue for you to decide what they do for you.

If these gorgeous flats from C. Paravano look familiar to you, I featured another style by the brand in an earlier post this week. I can’t get enough of the jewel-tone colors. These would be perfect with black cigarette pants or a long satin skirt.

Take me to Tiffany’s! These would be perfect for a daytime outing on the town.

The little bird perched atop this vintage-style ceramic jar is as precious as they come. Practical as it is beautiful, the car has an airtight seal to store cookies, tea, coffee, or whatever you need without sacrificing functionality.

Canvas art is a great way to add color and personality to a space without spending much money. Since canvas art usually isn’t framed, it’s an inexpensive way to bring your palate together and add some whimsy. We have canvases mixed in with framed pieces throughout our home, from the dining room to the porch. It’s also a great option for kids’ rooms or young adults just starting out in their own spaces.

I LOVE trays. They add personality and layers to a space while serving as real functioning pieces. I use them in my living room to corral remotes, candles, and coasters. I have one for my Kindle, glasses, bedside tissues, and lip balm in my bedroom. I even have one on the porch for sundries there as well. This blue with gold trim is a favorite of mine, but if it isn’t your cup of tea, the line comes in a ton of styles. Oh, tea! Another great use for my new tray!

Is a towel warmer a luxury or a must-have? I’ll leave that up to you. However, if you’re in the market or looking for the perfect gift for someone who has everything, this one is just the right size, has an automatic shutoff, and guarantees a warm, dry towel every time you step out of the shower.

I could and will, dedicate an entire post to pillows. They are the perfect partners for all of my trays. Once again, a colorful pillow can elevate a space, add texture and design layers, and make the space more comfortable for living. Like the canvas art above, they are another way to add dimension and personality to your space without breaking the bank.

Ginger jars are timeless classics that have been around forever because, once again, they are an intersection of form and function. They are beautiful enough to be standalone decorative items but are also used to store tea bags, dry goods, or even to house a plant. While this style adds color and design, it will blend into almost any decor.

Continuing with the theme, this ceramic ginger jar lamp is perfect for a console table, a bedside table, or as a pair in your dining room. The classic style is versatile enough to work with either a casual room or a space that’s a bit more formal. It packs designer style at an affordable price point.

Spode bone china is a classic designer piece. It doesn’t get more traditional than this. This beautiful blue Spode serving tray can be used for any occasion or set out as a decorative piece. I was fortunate enough to have my grandmother’s collection passed down to me. I bring it out each autumn and use it until summer (when less outdoor-friendly melamine replaces most of my everyday china). Sitting down to a meal or walking through a room where I can see and use my grandmother’s things keeps my connection to her alive and well. I am carrying on traditions and making memories with my family like she did for me.

I have a blue and white sweater problem. I buy them every year. I love them and wear them all the time. The color block on this one and the loose fit and ribbed, tapered cuff make it a casual staple must-have.

While this isn’t entirely blue, there is enough blue in the block print that I’m including it here. This bag is the perfect size for make-up, travel, or to organize your stuff in a larger tote. I love the tassels, too.

Let’s talk Grandmillennial style. This cute quilted jacket is the perfect modern take with contrasting cuffs and pocket detail and the wide stripe at the bottom. If you want to embrace this trend, this is the right price to get you started.
